Russia has showcased its new multi-purpose fighter jet, the Mikoyan MiG-35, at the 13th International Aviation and Space Salon (MAKS). The airshow, which runs until July 23, presents aerospace-related high-tech products from almost 800 companies from around 36 countries. Russia’s new MiG-35 plane is the country’s most-advanced multi-purpose fighter jet. It has improvements in flight and technical characteristics, as well as the most-advanced onboard radio-electronic equipment and a wide arsenal of air-to-air and air-to-surface missiles. The jet can develop a speed of 2.23 Mach and its operational radius exceeds the range of its predecessor MiG-29 by 50. Flight tests began in January 2017. MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Commenting on the ban of the Russian Federal News Agency, Google said that the sources of Google News were regularly updated and although the website of the Federal News Agency cannot be found in the Google News search, it is still accessible via Google Search. Earlier this year, US officials briefed reporters on an extraordinary operation: they claimed to have launched an offensive cyber-attack against Russia to protect the integrity of the country’s midterm elections. Government hackers from US Cyber Command had pre-emptively cut off the internet to a St Petersburg office building that houses the Internet Research Agency, better known as Russia’s troll factory, to prevent the spread of misinformation on election day in November 2018, US newspapers reported. Japanese and Russian foreign and defense ministers meeting in Tokyo on Thursday accused each others' governments of unacceptable military buildups in the region. The Japanese say Russia's expanded military presence in the disputed Kuril Islands is "unacceptable," whereas the Russians say Japan's planned installation of a US-made Aegis Ashore missile defense system poses a "potential threat." Japanese Foreign Minister Taro Kono told his counterpart Sergei Lavrov, "Our country's legal position does not accept the missile drills, fighter aircraft deployment, and enhancement of the military presence in the Northern Territories."
